Today's Savings

About every 2 weeks we will buy baby food...about $30 worth of baby food. In the past, baby food would take up about 9% of our monthly grocery budget. Formula alone makes up a little more than 25% of the grocery budget.

So today I tried making baby food from the things we already had on hand.

I was able to make 56 servings of food with only the fruits in our pantry and freezer! And it was so much fun. It was just a matter of cutting and cooking, blending and scooping, then freezing and storing.

I made Mango, Berry-Peach, Apple-Banana, and Orange-Raspberry.

Price of 56 servings of baby food from the store: $28

Estimated cost of making 56 servings: $7.80

Today's Savings: $20.20 or 72%

And where will that $20.20 go? Into our debt snowball!
